Team Bonding: A New Mexico Basketball Player Reportedly Punched His Walk-On Teammate During A Flight Over A Seat

[Source] - University officials confirm they are investigating an alleged incident involving at least two members of the Lobo men’s basketball team.

KOB 4 was the first to tell you about these allegations Monday evening. We spoke to the family of a walk-on player on the Lobo basketball team and briefly with the attorney representing him.

The family claims this all happened during the team’s recent trip to Palm Springs for the Acrisure Classic.

The family claims a scholarship basketball player punched the walk-on player on the flight to Palm Springs. This was allegedly over an argument concerning where the walk-on player was sitting on the plane.

The family claims the player was punched again by the teammate at the hotel the same day. They also say the victim went to the coaching staff and claims they didn’t do anything about the alleged assault.

Here's what I know. New Mexico is about to look like the best team in the country. Facts are facts over team fights on planes:

I can't believe we have another team airplane fight story, but here we are. Now we don't know who is involved again, but it appears to be a walk-on and a scholarship player with the walk-on getting punched. Need to know way more of the story here, like the size of the players involved and where the seat was. I'm a pro walk-on guys, glue guys to the team who keep the locker room loose. You need walk-ons to keep the locker room together, but they also know their role. They are the victory cigars late in games when the student section is going nuts for them to launch a three. Not saying they aren't on the team or anything like that, but, yeah, a rotation player should get priority seating.

Obviously you can't be punching someone here, especially at the hotel again. But like I said earlier, it worked for Auburn, surely it will work for New Mexico right? You got Pitino blood as the head coach, he knows how to handle situations. Gotta let the two players hash it out on the flight, turn the plane around, leave them in New Mexico.
